Looking Great this Holiday: Trends and Styles

It's cold outside, but that doesn't mean your fashion statement should suffer! While it's easy to just throw on an old sweater and jeans to stay warm, remember that it only takes a few minutes to select cute pieces and accessories to flatter your body and keep you warm at the same time. Even the most glamorous celebrities struggle with confidence issues, but looking cute and sophisticated this holiday will surely put you in a festive mood. From embellished sweaters to flat shoes and comfy boots, you're sure to find a casual yet chic look to love.

A new trend that is spreading like wildfire this holiday season is sparkly sweaters and shirts! What better way to look great and stay warm this winter than with a pretty sweater that glitters and shines? Due to the detailing, this look requires minimal accessorizing; so save those pendant necklaces and bracelets for another day, ladies! Pulling off this look is incredibly easy; all you have to do is select your favorite sequined or embellished sweater, a fitted pair of jeans, and some cute winter boots.

Speaking of boots, is there really a better way to bring together a comfy and casual look? Boots are seriously trending this season; if you haven't snagged yourself a great pair, it may be time to reconsider and take advantage of those great pre-holiday and post-holiday sales. Whether you prefer a cozy plush-shearling style or a more tailored look with a timeless equestrian, you are sure to find the perfect boot to fit your unique tastes. Not sure how to wear a boot? It's easy; for an effortless yet polished look, throw on your favorite button-up denim shirt, a pair of cute colored jeans or leggings, and a chic set of riding boots. To finish off the look, consider adding a chunky scarf and a braided leather belt that will coordinate with your boots.

Not into boots? Flat shoes are always in style and look great with virtually any outfit! Neutral tones are especially popular this season, so find a nude set and a dark pair of jeans for the ultimate combination. Nude flats and casual looks beckon accessories, so don't forget to add that extra flair! Try a statement-making pendant necklace or a bejeweled collar to really spice things up.

With these styles, looking great will be a cinch this holiday season. Remember to choose styles that flatter your body and make you feel great so you can face the holidays with confidence and have a great time!

The evening dress

There are two trends for this season formal wear. One is rich in different/unusual colors, and also playing with mixture styles in order to emphasized singularity of an evening image. The other is screaming GLAMOROUS!! They are very elegant and ladylike, just imagine the old Hollywood looks. A little bit of sparkle and a sexy neckline are a great touch for this season formal wear.

The dress that I was wearing in this post is my new evening formal party dress from Msdressy. Colors for this season are all about gem tones. To add these feminine and sensual colors in your night time dresses is better than anything else. Deep, warm, jewel tomes like ruby red, royal blue, emerald, burnt orange and dark purple are the dominant colors of this season. Therefore, when I was choosing the color for this dress, I decided to go for this royal blue color. This beautiful dress is very elegant, absolutely in the category of glamorous and old Hollywood style. The dress length that's so long that plummets to the floor is also one of the must if you choose to go for a long evening dress. They help making you look very tall. The dress I was wearing also has a beautiful side slit and will reveal my leg when I was walking; it's sexy but not overwhelming, just what we need for an elegant look. I know you might be thinking now how can I walk in such a long dress? I have to admit that it's not easy to walk in such a long dress but it's not anywhere near impossible as well. There's not going to be a lot of walking in a formal evening party anyway. Just be careful and remember not to step on your own dress. As long as your not falling on the special night, everything is worth it for beauty, isn't it? At least it is for me.

For a cold day entrance, I chose to go with rich color mix and match. Emerald green and royal blue, they go pretty well together don't they? A dyed fur coat to keep you warm and also a great piece for this glamorous look.

Cozy legging

In these cold months all I want to do is stay at home and cuddle with my huge comforter with a cup of hot cocoa or hot tea in my hand. However, no matter how much I try not to, getting out of the house is still a must. One of my favorite cold months pieces are leggings, sweaters and scarfs. Nothing is more comfy then wearing these pieces and then a big coat on top of it. However, that could be pretty boring if this is what you need to wear for months on end. This is the time when I love to hunt for some chic, fun yet cozy leggings. Lucky for us there are a lot of legging choices out there for us to choose from. This is my new legging from Oasap.com. I love the fun cross straps details and the beautiful metallic blue really caught my eyes. The legging is already a standout piece so I decided to put it on with a cozy oversize sweater and a fur scarf for double coziness. It's a simple yet chic and fun outfit, and still keeps me warm from harsh cold, I love it!! How do you stay warm in these cold months my friends? What's your favorite pieces for the Fall/Winter?

Black and White

The weather is getting colder and colder, the day is getting darker earlier and earlier each day. Honestly, the short day light makes me feel so lazy and feel like I can never get things done everyday. When the sky is getting dark, all I want to do is to be home, prepare dinner and lay on the bed watching movies and shows. These all sound relaxing but annoy me at the same time. I have a lot to do and really need to get this laziness out of the way.

Even tho the weather is getting colder each day, it's not that bad in Wichita. It has been pretty nice during the day time these couple of weeks, around 55 F to 60 F (12 - 15 Celcius). Sometimes it gets a little colder where we need a coat but sometimes a blazer for outer wear is all I need. In these pictures I was wearing a long sleeves floral print blouse with a white blazer. I love the black and white contrast, and the floral print adds a little fun.

Emerald green faux fur coat

A Faux Fur Coat to me is a must for Winter season. A simple piece of faux fur coat can give an outfit a glamorous touch. Other than the beauty of it, a good quality fur coat can really keep you warm. I do not like to wear a lot of layers because they always end up looking chunky. Therefore, I am willing to spend a little more on a couple nice coats every other year. I always wanted a nice rich color fur coat and I was so exciting when I found this beautiful Emerald green faux fur coat at GUESS. First of all, the color is very beautiful. Emerald green is one of the most in trend colors for this season. I also love the cutting of this coat, including the length and the round neck collar. This statement-making piece is what I need to look fabulous in these cold months. Are fur coats your winter must haves too? What's your favorite coat in this cold season?
